Dorori is 5 years old and just 28lbs and has quite the remarkable story. Last year during the widespread wildfires in Andong, South Korea, our team and partners braved the flames to rescue as many animals as we could. Dorori was one of many pups that survived, but was left with scars from the fires. Though it’s painful to think of what she went through, we’re glad she’s with us now and her scars are only proof of her bravery! Sweet Dorori has been away at summer camp with Expawers and is now ready to join the adoptable crew~ When she first arrived in the city, she really struggled to come out of her shell and could not overcome her fear of the city noises. With some fresh air and direction from the gang upstate, she’s a lot more care free! Dorori, also known as “Rory,” was originally rescued during the Andong wildfires in South Korea last year. Though she spent some time at our center in Bundang, she regressed in NYC. Now she’s running around the woods, leaping through ponds and streams, and having a blast with all of her friends. Rory is as loyal as they come and would thrive in a home ready to keep exploring with her. Come meet this shining star in all her glory tomorrow, we’re so excited to see what the universe has in store for this girl. Sunday, August 2nd 1PM - 4PM Culture Lab LIC 5-25 46th Avenue, LIC Queens Dorori is also eligible for our Jindo Journey Training Stipend! This means she and her future family are eligible to receive $300 towards their training package - an opportunity to fully thrive for the long haul with guidance and support from trainers that know our dogs well! You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC. Korean K9 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit saving dogs from the Korean dog meat trade and overcrowded shelters.

🧠 Temperament

Sweet Dorori has been away at summer camp with Expawers and is now ready to join the adoptable crew~ When she first arrived in the city, she really…. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

Now she’s running around the woods, leaping through ponds and streams, and having a blast with all of her friends. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
