Jindo · Korean K9 Rescue
1 year · Male · 41 lbs · Long Island City, NY
Toshi is 1-and-a-half and 40lbs - he’s mostly legs and a sleek body though. He was rescued from the wildfires in Andong last year and has since been having fun and learning a lot at our center in Bundang.
Now that he’s made the trip to NYC, he’s figuring out the good life in his foster home. Toshi is very tuned into receiving affection and getting attention! He enjoys being showered in compliments and will let you know with a gentle paw tap if he’d like some more rubs and pets please. He’s still adjusting to the city noises but has already made so much progress! He also needs some extra consistency with his crate; sometimes he gets a little FOMO.
With Toshi’s size though, he’s eligible for our Jindo Journey training stipend! This means he and his adopters are eligible to receive $300 towards their training package! Handsome boy in his tuxedo suit will be an upstanding pup citizen in no time.
You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC.
Meet Us At Our Next Adoption Event

Korean K9 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit saving dogs from the Korean dog meat trade and overcrowded shelters.
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
