Meet Yoshi Meet Yoshi, a survivor of South Korea's devastating wildfires in 2025. When the fires swept through her community, Yoshi was chained outside, unable to escape. She survived, but suffered painful burns to her back and legs. After months of medical care, rehabilitation, and lots of love, look at her now! Today, this beautiful 2-year-old Jindo mix is blossoming in her foster home, discovering what it means to feel safe, loved, and free. Her foster mom says she's playful, curious, and growing more confident every day. She loves her toys, gets excited for walks, and has the biggest ears that make the funniest flapping sound when she shakes! She's still learning that loud noises and unfamiliar people aren't something to fear, but every day she's making progress. From surviving a wildfire while chained outside to sleeping peacefully in a soft bed, Yoshi has come such a long way. Now all she needs is a forever family to continue her beautiful journey. You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC. Meet Us at Our Next Adoption Event Where: Just Food for Dogs Williamsburg - 625 Driggs Ave When: Sat Oct 31st Time: 1-4pm Korean K9 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit saving dogs from the Korean dog meat trade and overcrowded shelters.

Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

Her foster mom says she's playful, curious, and growing more confident every day. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

She loves her toys, gets excited for walks, and has the biggest ears that make the funniest flapping sound when she shakes!. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
