After being adopted from the shelter as a puppy 8 years ago, Max spent his life as a beloved family dog. Sadly, when the family’s second grandchild was born and developed allergies, Max was relinquished and forced to live outside. He wasn’t used to being outside, and it was incredibly dangerous with Coyotes, and other elements. Max even got out and neighbors found him simply waiting by the door, hoping to be let back inside. All he wanted was to be indoors—where he could find shade during the day, warmth at night, and a safe, comfortable place to rest. Max is a sweet, gentle guy who is human-friendly, dog-friendly, and kid-friendly. After 8 years of being part of a family, he deserves to spend his golden years inside with people who will love and care for him the way he’s always deserved.
🧠 Temperament
Max is a sweet, gentle guy who is human-friendly, dog-friendly, and kid-friendly. Bold, curious and busy.
🎾 Exercise
Moderate to high, and mental more than physical — 45-60 minutes plus digging, sniffing or puzzle outlets.
✂️ Grooming
Varies. Wiry coats need hand-stripping or clipping every few months; smooth coats need very little.
🏙️ In an LA apartment
Their small size suits apartments well. Watch for barking at hallway noise and a strong interest in squirrels and rats.
