Ruthie is a sweet senior girl who has already been through more than any dog should. She was dumped outside of a local business alongside her large-breed dog friend. Thankfully, the kind business owner allowed them to stay, and the employees stepped up to care for them. They made sure Ruthie was safe, loved, and even got her vaccinated until our rescue was able to take her in. Once in our care, Ruthie headed to the vet for a senior blood panel and urinalysis. And despite her age, she is in surprisingly great health! Her hearing isn’t quite what it used to be, but otherwise this little lady is doing wonderfully. Ruthie is happiest when she’s close to her person. She loves curling up at your feet, snuggling beside you, or finding a cozy spot in your lap. She’s gentle, content, and has such a happy, grateful little soul. After everything she’s been through, she still has so much love to give. Now Ruthie is looking for something she should have had all along: a forever person who will love her through her golden years and never abandon her again.
🧠 Temperament
Ruthie is a sweet senior girl who has already been through more than any dog should. Bold, curious and busy.
🎾 Exercise
Moderate to high, and mental more than physical — 45-60 minutes plus digging, sniffing or puzzle outlets.
✂️ Grooming
Varies. Wiry coats need hand-stripping or clipping every few months; smooth coats need very little.
🏙️ In an LA apartment
Their small size suits apartments well. Watch for barking at hallway noise and a strong interest in squirrels and rats.
