A LA estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.

Hi, I’m Cali! I’m an 8-month-old, 38-pound Shepherd mix, and according to my foster family, I might just be the most perfect package. I’m their 12th foster, so I’m taking that as a pretty big compliment! I’m playful and engaging, but I also know how to settle while my people do their own thing. I’m loving and loyal without being clingy, reserved with new people but quick to warm up, and smart and eager to learn. I’m wonderful with dogs, too. I’m patient with older dogs and adjust my play style for little ones. Once my leg is fully healed, my foster family has no doubt I’ll be a fabulous playmate. I’m crate trained, potty trained, good in the car, know my basic commands, and don’t have separation anxiety. And, of course, I’m also absolutely gorgeous, with the softest fur and sweetest face. I’m ready to leave my past behind and find the forever family I deserve. Could that be you? Much Love, Cali

Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

I’m loving and loyal without being clingy, reserved with new people but quick to warm up, and smart and eager to learn. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In an LA apartment

I’m crate trained, potty trained, good in the car, know my basic commands, and don’t have separation anxiety. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
