Meet Ava! 💕 Ava is quite possibly the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet. She can be a bit shy at first, but she is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and happiest when she’s close to her person. If you’re looking for the perfect lap dog and cuddle buddy, Ava may just be your girl!
The sights and sounds of the big city can still feel a little overwhelming to Ava, but she is getting braver every day. On walks, she adorably looks to her human for reassurance when something makes her nervous. She walks beautifully on a leash and loves exploring at her own pace. Sometimes the excitement of the city makes her a little too nervous to do her business outside, but she reliably uses a pee pad when she needs to.
At home, Ava LOVES to cuddle and will happily curl up on your lap or beside you. She’s also learning that alone time is okay! She may cry in her crate for about 20 minutes when first left alone or settling in for the night, but then she calms down and settles nicely.
Ava would love a patient, loving home where she can continue building her confidence and discovering that the world isn’t so scary. She has so much love to give and is already making progress every day. If your dream dog is a sweet, snuggly little shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Ava is ready to steal your heart. ❤️
Ava is approximately 1y 9m 2d old and is fully grown at 10 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done.
Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog.

Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
