A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Fully grown at about 38 lbs.
Hi, I’m Balto a very sweet and friendly boy. I am also very clever and a little bit mischievous. I love walks and belly rubs. My favorite is for us to hang out together even if I’m just snoozing while you’re working. I am a great eater and will always ask to see what you’re munching too. I also walk very well on my leash, but I am also eager to say hello and make new friends. Balto is approximately 6y 0m 11d old and is fully grown at 38 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Hi, I’m Balto a very sweet and friendly boy. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
I also walk very well on my leash, but I am also eager to say hello and make new friends. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
