Bluey is a cutie teenage girl with lots of energy, superior smarts, and the sweetest personality! At 8 months, she still has some puppy energy and loves to chase her favorite tennis ball around the house and go on long walks through the park, smiling and wagging her tail the whole way. She does great on the leash and hasn't lunged or chased anyone, human or animal, excluding a few birds (Bluey is obsessed with pigeons!). After getting her energy out, Bluey is content to sprawl on the couch hugging her person and chewing on a toy or taking a snooze. So far she's still getting the hang of the crate and whines for about a half an hour before settling in each night, but throughout the day she likes to wander into the crate and explore so I have no doubt she'll adjust to it in no time. She seems to be fully housebroken and has taken to training brilliantly. She learned "sit" and "shake" by the end of her first day out of the shelter! Her only potty quirk is a penchant for distraction, but once she's on a quiet side street away from people and cars, she goes no problem! If you're looking for a smart, energetic pup who will join you on adventures and never leave your side, Bluey is the girl for you! Bluey is approximately 0y 8m 22d old and may be 35 to 43 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

If you're looking for a smart, energetic pup who will join you on adventures and never leave your side, Bluey is the girl for you!. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

At 8 months, she still has some puppy energy and loves to chase her favorite tennis ball around the house and go on long walks through the park…. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

Her only potty quirk is a penchant for distraction, but once she's on a quiet side street away from people and cars, she goes no problem!. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
