Bonnie is an energetic, affectionate puppy who is making great strides in her foster home. She has already learned "sit," redirects well to chew toys during teething, and is currently working on pee-pad training. She loves playing tug-of-war, hopping around during playtime, and shadowing people closely throughout the day. While she may cry initially when separated in a pen or another room, she settles within 15-20 minutes and is happiest curling up for a lap or blanket nap after playtime. Bonnie is approximately 0y 2m 6d old and may be 43 to 53 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.

Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

Bonnie is an energetic, affectionate puppy who is making great strides in her foster home. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

She loves playing tug-of-war, hopping around during playtime, and shadowing people closely throughout the day. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
