A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Fully grown at about 20 lbs.
Hi I'm Butter, a happy go lucky pup who is looking for her forever home! I like meeting new people and exploring new places, and I'm quick to make friends with new humans I meet! I love getting pets and am especially fond of getting my belly rubbed--I'll probably ask you to do so very quickly after meeting you! (And I'll probably nudge you with my nose if you stop too soon.) I have lots of energy when I go for walks and tend to walk really fast, especially when I spot a new tree or fire hydrant to smell--sometimes I move too fast for my human! I'm still working on my leash skills and gradually learning what it means to "heel"--I'm sure I'll get there eventually! While I'm Speedy McGee outside, at home I'm very content to relax and take it easy. When I'm not asking for belly rubs, I love stretching out for a nap on the floor--I particularly love hanging out under the coffee table! I am fully housebroken and comfortable in my crate! Will you be my forever family? Butter is approximately 8y 0m 13d old and is fully grown at 20 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
🎾 Exercise
(And I'll probably nudge you with my nose if you stop too soon.) I have lots of energy when I go for walks and tend to walk really fast, especially…. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
I am fully housebroken and comfortable in my crate!. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
