Looking at his scruffy face, floppy ears and pillow paws, you may be thinking, "that's a stuffed animal!" But we promise Cosmo is very real, and just as cute in person! Cosmo has an overall calm demeanor, but his silly, play mode is easily activated by rolling a ball his way, tossing one of his stuffies or giving him a little drum roll. Cosmo is equal parts cuddlebug and independent. Cosmo can keep himself entertained, but also likes to show off his toys and get his humans involved if they're available. He loves to snuggle on the couch and follow everyone around the house, but also doesn't put up much of a fight when put in his crate (though he may express his FOMO with a few whines before he settles in). Cosmo is a smart cookie who has picked up on routine and basic commands very quickly. He is 100% crate trained and 99.9% house-trained, taking care of business promptly when outside. City noises do not bother him, and even though he had a couple hesitant days on leash, he is now excited to walk around the block and get his sniffs in! Everything is exciting to him - bikes, other dogs, strollers, people - and he throughly enjoys sitting on our front stoop watching the world go by! Cosmo is trusting and friendly when meeting new people, including young kids - giving out kisses in exchange for pets and belly rubs. He tends to be more submissive with big dogs, but definitely wants to play and is slowly gaining his confidence with his older (and much larger) foster sister. If you’re looking for an easy going pup, this sweet, goofy, fuzzy boy might be for you! Cosmo is approximately 0y 4m 9d old and may be 35 to 43 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org.
