A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.

Hi, I’m Lilo! My foster parents call me “the sweetest little baby in the entire world,” and I think they might be onto something! I’m new to New York City, and so far, I’m loving everything about the Big Apple! I’m a big fan of the simple things in life: playing tug, taking cozy naps, cuddling up with my favorite people, and, most importantly, getting belly rubs! I’m also doing wonderfully in my crate and happily sleep there. When it’s time to explore the city, I’m a little superstar on leash. I don’t pull or bark, and I love saying hello to all the humans I meet. I sometimes take an interest in other dogs, too, but I’m usually perfectly happy watching them from a distance. My foster parents say I’m the most cat-like dog they’ve ever met, which I think is a pretty big compliment. I’m sweet, affectionate, independent, and just an all-around easygoing little girl. I’m still learning that outside is the place to go potty, so I may have an occasional accident while I’m figuring it out. I’m working hard and making progress, and I know I’ll get the hang of it with a little patience and encouragement! I’m still getting to know this big new world, but I’m ready to find my forever family and show them just how sweet I can be! Lilo is approximately 1y 4m 15d old and is fully grown at 33 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.

Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

I’m sweet, affectionate, independent, and just an all-around easygoing little girl. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

When it’s time to explore the city, I’m a little superstar on leash. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
