📏 Full size

Fully grown at about 54 lbs.

A large dog by weight

Mars is 3 years old. He is an excitable, affectionate, fun-loving guy. He's a 60-pound beautiful boy who loves to play, especially tug. His play should be with adults as he behaves like a puppy at times and doesn’t realize his own strength. He is still learning how to fetch. He's most happy cuddling on the couch with you. He enjoys quiet walks and ball tosses when alone with you in the park. If there is a large field where he can run on an extendable leash that's even better. His pet parents must have patience as he is easily overstimulated and sometimes reactive on the leash. Mars prefers to be the only fur baby in the household: he thrives with individual attention. He does well when home alone. He sleeps all day, no separation anxiety and he can go hours without a relief break. Mars deserves a true loving home with an experienced owner who can keep up with his training. Mars is approximately 3y 5m 16d old and is fully grown at 54 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

He is an excitable, affectionate, fun-loving guy. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

He enjoys quiet walks and ball tosses when alone with you in the park. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Mars prefers to be the only fur baby in the household: he thrives with individual attention. Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

If there is a large field where he can run on an extendable leash that's even better. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
