Meet Star! Perfectly named because that's exactly what she is! Star has a way of capturing everyone's attention with her sweet demeanor, sassy personality, wiggly body, and signature feature... a tongue that just can't seem to stay put. We may not know much about Star's journey before she found herself at ACC and then Muddy Paws, but we do know that she's right where she belongs now! She's getting lots of love and care in foster care while she waits to find her forever home. We can't wait for sweet Star to find her perfect match--someone who will give her all the love, comfort, and care her little heart could ever want. Could you be the one to make this adorable little hippo's dreams come true? Star is approximately 5y 1m 9d old and is fully grown at 33 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.

Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
