About Zander

Zander is genuinely the sweetest little snuggle bug in the world! He is incredibly friendly and wants nothing more than to be close to his people, soak up affection, and cuddle 24/7. If you are looking for a loving shadow who will happily curl up beside you, Zander may be your perfect match. On walks, Zander has been calm around other dogs and has not shown any reactivity when seeing them around the block. He can become a little flustered when he cannot see his person or realizes he is being left alone, but with a few reassuring pets and some help settling down, he relaxes and is able to stay calmly in his crate. Zander has so much love to give and would thrive with someone who can offer him patience, reassurance, and plenty of cuddles. He is an affectionate, gentle boy who just wants to feel safe and loved!

Zander is approximately 0y 4m 24d old and may be 50 to 60 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done.

Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog.

Mixed / Unknown breed temperament

Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.

Exercise

Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

In a NYC apartment

Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
