Meet Kona Kona’s story is one no dog should ever have to endure. Bought from a breeder, this sweet girl suffered unimaginable abuse. She was kicked so hard that her leg shattered, leaving her in agony when she finally arrived at our partner shelter in Mississippi. Her injuries required care that the shelter simply didn’t have the resources to provide, so we knew we had to step in. Kona deserved a chance to heal, to feel safe, and to experience the kindness every dog should know. Despite the cruelty she has endured, Kona is still a sweet girl who deserves a future filled with love. She will need patience, gentle guidance, and someone willing to let her find her confidence at her own pace. She doesn’t need perfection. She needs someone who will show her that the world can be kind, that hands can offer comfort instead of hurt, and that she will never have to face life alone again. Kona has already been through more than any dog should. Now, she deserves the most beautiful next chapter: a loving home, a family to call her own, and the chance to finally just be a dog. Please open your heart to Kona. After everything she has endured, her greatest wish is simple: a safe place to belong and someone who will love her forever. Please remember that adoption bios are only a snapshot of each animal. Reach out to our Adoption Team for more information about Kona and to learn if she may be the right fit for your home. All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Interested in adopting or fostering? Need more info on this dog? ✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

She needs someone who will show her that the world can be kind, that hands can offer comfort instead of hurt, and that she will never have to face…. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
