There isn't much debate about why Strider, a 2-year-old Queensland Heeler, was stuck in the shelter since February. Simply put: Strider was sad. This active pup was stressed and would cower in the back of his kennel. But once he was outside and got some exercise, he became a different dog. Luckily, we got to see The Real Strider. He is smart, social with dogs of all sizes, and beloved by volunteers. We decided to rescue him and gave him a fun day out. Watch our Instagram video of Strider finally burning off steam and having a BALL! Strider is simply a fun, family dog for a household who would love to add a smart, dog-friendly dog to their pack. DM us if you have a big heart and a big backyard and let's set up a meeting! (Strider is currently in foster in Reseda, CA.)
🧠 Temperament
He is smart, social with dogs of all sizes, and beloved by volunteers. Whip-smart, intense and endlessly driven.
🎾 Exercise
This active pup was stressed and would cower in the back of his kennel. Very high — 90+ minutes plus daily training or a dog sport.
✂️ Grooming
Short weather-resistant double coat, easy but sheds seasonally.
🏙️ In an LA apartment
One of the toughest apartment breeds. Only realistic if you are genuinely active and ready to train daily.
