I would definitely consider him a “Velcro dog.” He loves being around his people and will follow you around the house, checking in throughout the day for some love and attention. Every time you walk past him, he will expect to be pet, preferably with his belly up! He absolutely LOVES people. If he could have a “Please Pet Me” sign attached to him, he would. He is the definition of a social butterfly and loves meeting new people and dogs.Elroy especially enjoys meeting smaller dogs, but he does well with dogs of all sizes. He can just be a little more cautious when meeting bigger dogs at first. He also does not seem to realize that he is a big dog! He will happily try to sit on your lap or put his paws on you when he gets excited or wants attention. Elroy is an incredibly calm pup overall. He loves taking naps in the funniest positions and can pretty much fall asleep anywhere. Elroy does very well in social settings. He is comfortable sitting beside you at a restaurant, hanging out in coffee shops, going into stores, and playing at dog parks. He does great on city walks and has been adjusting really well to his surroundings. Elroy is very food-motivated and eager to learn. He has already learned commands such as sit, lay down, paw, and come, and he is very responsive to correction. One of his funniest habits is that he loves stealing socks and carrying them around like they are his emotional support items. He is also getting the hang of playing with toys. He is not particularly interested in squeaky toys, but he absolutely ADORES balls of all kinds, including tennis balls, rubber balls, baseballs, etc. Sometimes he will even carry a tennis ball around in his mouth just for fun and entertain himself by playing with it. Elroy is a major cuddle bug. Any opportunity you give him to cuddle, he will happily take it. He will join you on the couch, climb onto your bed, or sit in a chair with you if you allow it, and he is perfectly content just relaxing by your side. He is a very affectionate and obedient puppy and understands the word “no.” Honestly, he really does not have a single bad bone in his body." Medical status: Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.
