Jagger - 2 years & 23lbs, Frenchie/Boston Mix, Neutered This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Their Foster Says: "Jagger is the sweetest little lover boy! He’s a 2-year-old Frenchie mix with all the classic Frenchie personality traits — he loves attention, loves being near his people, and will happily follow you around the apartment just to be close. Jagger has been such an easy and lovable foster. He’s funny, affectionate, well-behaved, and just genuinely wants to be someone’s little shadow. If you’re looking for a companion who will happily follow you around, keep you company, and make sure you never forget how loved you are, Jagger is your guy!" Level of dog ownership experience required: BEGINNER – “Beginner” doesn’t necessarily mean easy as all dogs will require time, work, and patience, but we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale because of their breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup. Energy level: MEDIUM – Needs a daily 60 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Okay in the city? He’s incredibly friendly and affectionate and will happily stop on walks to say hi to pretty much everyone he sees! Potty trained? He is mostly potty trained - might have a few transitional accidents while getting used to a new home. Crate training? His foster is currently crate training him, and he sleeps comfortably in his crate at night and stays there when they're away for longer periods. His foster believes he could eventually be free-range — he doesn’t chew, get into things, or cause trouble when he’s out. Social with other dogs? Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds. Comfortable with children? (ALWAYS requires adult supervision) We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age carefully. Cuddle Bug Status: He isn’t necessarily a lap dog, but he absolutely needs to be touching you in some way, whether that means leaning against your leg, sitting by your feet, or just staring at you lovingly from across the room. He really just wants to be included in whatever you’re doing. Jumping on people to say hello: He can get very excited when new people come over and may jump up to say hello, but it’s purely because he’s so happy to meet people and be loved. Leash Manners: Jagger walks well on a leash, although he does have some typical little-dog zigzagging and likes to stop and investigate things along the way. Medical status: Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in
