Meet Nano! A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd mix currently in Santa Clarita, CA, whose essence is a playful burst of loyalty and affection wrapped in a handsome tan and black coat. At about 48 pounds, Nano is a medium-sized boy with an athletic side, a goofy streak, and a big desire to be close to his favorite people! He loves to play, run around, hang by your side, and soak up affection. Once he feels comfortable with you, his wonderfully snuggly personality shines through. His desire to be loved may just be his most endearing quality! Nano is also one smart cookie. He has completed extensive professional board-and-train work and knows sit, stay, heel, jump, place, shake, and more! He comes when called, is crate trained, house-trained, and comfortable being left alone in his crate for short periods. He enjoys car rides, follows an established daily routine, and thrives with structure and consistency. Continued positive reinforcement will help this clever boy keep building on everything he has learned. Nano has also made great progress with resource guarding through behavior support. His new family will need to respect and continue his training so he can remain comfortable, confident, and well-balanced. A fenced yard is required, giving this active goofball room to enjoy some of his favorite adventures. With other dogs, Nano benefits from mindful, gradual introductions. Once comfortable, he enjoys playing and having canine friends! A cat-free home would be suitable for Nano, as his compatibility with cats has not been established. He does well with calm, respectful older children, typically those who are school-age and up. Nano is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has no reported health conditions. What he needs now is a committed pet parent who appreciates his intelligence, honors his need for consistency, and gives trust time to grow. In return, Nano is ready to offer companionship, laughter, playtime, snuggles, and the special bond of a dog who truly loves being part of your day! Could Nano be the clever, playful sidekick ready to begin his next adventure with you? If you’re interested in providing Nano with a loving home, please email meetme@joyfulpets.com for more information about adopting him! Please note that Nano is currently in foster care through one of our trusted rescue partners and will remain with his foster family until the right match is found. Because rescue-partner pets are managed directly by their respective organizations, their adoption process, requirements, and fees may differ from Joyful Pets’ direct rehoming program. Our team will be happy to connect you with the rescue and help guide you through their process to ensure everything goes smoothly.
