🧠 Temperament
Bold, curious and busy. Terriers were bred to hunt independently, which shows up as tenacity, a strong prey drive and a low tolerance for boredom. They are often more dog-selective than people-selective.

Scotch is intelligent and eager to please, making him a wonderful companion for an active individual or family. Moderate to high, and mental more than physical — 45-60 minutes plus digging, sniffing or puzzle outlets.

Varies. Wiry coats need hand-stripping or clipping every few months; smooth coats need very little.

Their small size suits apartments well. Watch for barking at hallway noise and a strong interest in squirrels and rats.
