Ernie

These two little puppies may look completely different, but they share the same mother—and the same heartbreaking beginning. Bert (black) and Ernie (white and brown) were born into a life surrounded by addiction and chaos, where they were being sold for money and drugs. Instead of growing up safe and loved, they spent much of their time confined to a crate in filthy conditions. When one of their siblings became sick with Parvo, their situation became even more urgent. Thankfully, these two little ones never contracted the virus and were able to get out safely. Despite everything they experienced so early in life, they are now safe and learning what it means to simply be puppies. They have also become incredibly bonded to one another, finding safety and confidence in each other’s presence. While they do not necessarily need to be adopted together, they would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog who can help them continue to feel secure as they navigate the world. Their beginning may have been heartbreaking, but we know their story is only just beginning. Now they are looking for families who will give them the safety, love, and happy life they deserve.
