Birdie is a beautiful 2-year-old Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a spirit that never gave up. Just days ago, she was facing euthanasia in an overcrowded California shelter, yet she continues to greet every person with joy, trust, and endless affection. Birdie is gentle, friendly with other dogs, and has the kind of warm, loving personality that makes everyone fall for her. She has overcome so much and is now looking for a permanent foster or forever family who will give her the safe, happy life she deserves. If you're searching for a loyal companion with a resilient spirit and an enormous heart, Birdie may be your perfect match.

Labrador Retriever

🧠 Temperament

Birdie is gentle, friendly with other dogs, and has the kind of warm, loving personality that makes everyone fall for her. Friendly, people-focused and famously food-motivated, which makes training straightforward.

🎾 Exercise

High needs — 60-90 minutes daily. Labs love retrieving and swimming, and an under-exercised Lab tends to get mouthy and destructive.

✂️ Grooming

Short double coat that sheds heavily year-round and more in spring and fall. Weekly brushing helps a lot.

🏙️ In an LA apartment

Can do well in an apartment if genuinely exercised. Size and shedding are the main constraints; most are elevator- and crowd-tolerant.
