Hi, I'm Babe! I'm about 7 years old with a whole lot of love to give, and I have one goal in life: being wherever you are. Couch cuddles? I'm in. Sprawled out on the rug near you while you work? Also me. Following you from room to room just to make sure you're doing okay? That's basically my full time job. I'll admit, I'm not shy about asking for a little extra attention, so if you feel a gentle paw on your arm or my head resting sweetly on your lap, that just means I love you and would like some scratchies, please and thank you. I've also got a playful, silly side. I love inviting other dogs to play by doing my best play-bow (I think it's pretty charming), I'll work hard for treats, and toys make me endlessly happy. I've got great energy for walks and games, but I'm just as happy chilling nearby while you go about your day. I've been working really hard on my manners too! I've nearly mastered my crate, I settle in quickly, and I even know the word "crate" now. My leash skills are coming along nicely with some continued practice. I'm fully housebroken and I sleep soundly through the night, no interruptions. I'm loyal, loving, and always up for fun. I'd love to bring my big personality and even bigger heart into a home ready to keep growing with me! Babe is approximately 7y 2m 20d old and is fully grown at 48 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
I'll admit, I'm not shy about asking for a little extra attention, so if you feel a gentle paw on your arm or my head resting sweetly on your lap…. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
I've got great energy for walks and games, but I'm just as happy chilling nearby while you go about your day. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
I've nearly mastered my crate, I settle in quickly, and I even know the word "crate" now. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
