A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Fully grown at about 7 lbs.
Meet Betsy. This adorable partially hairless tiny girl is as sweet as can be. She LOVES her people - requiring pets and cuddles. She will come nudge your hand or jump on your lap if you're not petting or paying attention to her. Betsy loves to snooze and is a perfect lower energy dog for any family. She is pee pad trained and goes potty outside on walks. She also loves going on walks and gets very excited when you pull out the leash. But she does pull on leash and bark at other dogs - a very classic small dog behavior! She's just being the big bad protector she is! But inside she is great with other dogs and cats. She also is fine being left alone -- all she wants is a comfy bed, a blanket to burrow under, and a human to love her. Could that human be you? Betsy is approximately 8y 10m 16d old and is fully grown at 7 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
🎾 Exercise
She is pee pad trained and goes potty outside on walks. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
She does pull on leash and bark at other dogs - a very classic small dog behavior!. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
