Now small, growing into a medium dog

Meet Crawford, a sweet and shy dog who takes a little time to warm up to new people. Once he feels comfortable with you, he becomes a devoted companion who will loyally follow you around. He is already crate trained, sleeps quietly through the entire night, and reliably uses indoor pee pads, though he hasn't started going on outdoor walks yet. Crawford is approximately 0y 2m 12d old and may be 45 to 55 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.

Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

Meet Crawford, a sweet and shy dog who takes a little time to warm up to new people. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

He is already crate trained, sleeps quietly through the entire night, and reliably uses indoor pee pads, though he hasn't started going on outdoor…. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
