About 10 lbs now and still growing — this breed usually reaches 30–45 lbs.
Hi, I’m Verity! My foster mom calls me a potato because I love lounging and am the calmest pup you’ll ever meet. I like to be around my human but can be a little shy to warm up to you. I enjoy getting pets and will try to lick your toes while you do so. While I don’t usually like to cuddle on you, I’m most affectionate in the morning or after a nap. I’ll run straight to you and give you kisses for as long as you pet and scratch me. I enjoy wrestling with my brother but also enjoy playing by myself. I like to chew on bones and toys and solve treat puzzles while you work. I enjoy finding dark, cozy spots like under the couch to take naps throughout the day. I’m a smart pup and am highly food motivated. I’ve already learned “sit,” “come,” and am working on “lay down,” “stay” and “place.” I’m house trained to pee and poo on the pad and crate trained as well. I’m not allowed to walk outside yet but I enjoy being carried around the city in a tote. I never bark but like to look at birds while I’m out and about. I have the superpower of being able to fall asleep anywhere. I’ve ridden the subway and do well in a car, too. I can’t wait to meet my forever family! Verity is approximately 0y 2m 18d old and may be 45 to 55 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
I like to be around my human but can be a little shy to warm up to you. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
I’ll run straight to you and give you kisses for as long as you pet and scratch me. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
I’ve already learned “sit,” “come,” and am working on “lay down,” “stay” and “place.” I’m house trained to pee and poo on the pad and crate trained…. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
