Hi! I’m Fritz. My foster mom calls me a cute plush because of my calm energy. I can be shy at first but when I warm up to you I’m incredibly affectionate. I love to lay by you and give kisses. I’m not allowed to walk outside yet but I’m calm when you carry me in a tote or in your arms for a neighborhood walk. I don’t bark or whine and fall asleep quite often while accompanying my foster mom to brunch or park hangs. I’m a calm and sweet boy. I like getting love from my humans and wrestling with my brother. I’m also perfectly happy playing by myself—chewing and cuddling with toys and taking lots of naps. I have also been caught watching tv with my humans from time to time. I’m mostly house trained and am great at learning commands when incentivized with a treat (peanut butter is my favorite)! I pee and poo on my pad 95% of the time. If I pee right before bed, I only need one potty break at night. I’ll bark to let you know and then fall right back asleep. I can’t wait to meet my forever family! Fritz is approximately 0y 2m 12d old and may be 20 to 30 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.

Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

I can be shy at first but when I warm up to you I’m incredibly affectionate. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

I’m not allowed to walk outside yet but I’m calm when you carry me in a tote or in your arms for a neighborhood walk. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

I don’t bark or whine and fall asleep quite often while accompanying my foster mom to brunch or park hangs. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
