A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Fully grown at about 8 lbs.
Hello everyone, I’m Miss Juanita! As you can see, I’ve had a bit of a rough life, but that hasn’t stopped my from wanting to give love to everyone around me. I love nothing more than cuddling with people, getting belly rubs, giving kisses, sunbathing, and napping (my foster dad says I’m a pro!). While my dancing days might be behind me and I move a bit more slowly now, I still love to go on walks and have impressed my foster family with my on leash abilities. Given that I’m a lady of a certain age, I’ll need a family who will be patient with me but you’ll quickly learn that I’m very adaptable and can get along with anyone (even my foster home’s grumpy resident dog). I’m looking forward to meeting even more people, and find my forever home! Juanita is approximately 12y 0m 9d old and is fully grown at 8.8 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
🎾 Exercise
While my dancing days might be behind me and I move a bit more slowly now, I still love to go on walks and have impressed my foster family with my on…. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
