A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Lexi is super sweet and just wants cuddles, pets, and to give you kisses. She's easy-going and spends her days sleeping alongside our resident dog or following you around the house, happy just to be near you. She is very well-behaved at home and seems to understand some commands, like sit. When she sees you getting ready for a walk, her whole mood lights up, she'll walk right beside you, looking up at you like the good girl she is. Lexi just needs a loving home to call her own, and she will give you so much love in return. Lexi is approximately 1y 2m 28d old and is fully grown at 17 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Lexi is super sweet and just wants cuddles, pets, and to give you kisses. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
When she sees you getting ready for a walk, her whole mood lights up, she'll walk right beside you, looking up at you like the good girl she is. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
