A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Meet Miles! Miles is a super sweet, affectionate little guy who absolutely loves being around people. He’s friendly with adults and other dogs, and is happiest when he can be close to his person. If you’re working or relaxing at home, you’ll often find him curled up by your feet or lying nearby just to keep you company. One of Miles’s cutest habits is putting his paw on you when he wants more attention. A paw-five! Give him a few pets and he’ll happily ask for more! He’s a very affectionate pup who loves being loved and will make sure you know when it’s time for some extra scratches. Miles is still getting used to some of the sights and sounds of the city. Loud noises can make him a little nervous, and bikes or scooters coming up behind him can spook him. No one likes being snuck up on! He settles quickly, and once he feels comfortable, he loves sniffing around and playing fetch. Miles can definitely sprint a mile! Afterward, he’s just as happy settling down next to you for some quiet time. Miles definitely has a look of his own! He has one adorable floppy ear and an impressively long tail that sometimes seems like it’s longer than the rest of him. More than anything, Miles is a loving little companion who just wants to be close to his people. Whether he’s following you around, asking for pets with his paw, or snoozing at your feet, he’s an incredibly sweet pup with lots of affection to give. Miles is approximately 1y 2m 28d old and is fully grown at 18 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.

🧠 Temperament
Miles is a super sweet, affectionate little guy who absolutely loves being around people. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
He settles quickly, and once he feels comfortable, he loves sniffing around and playing fetch. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Miles is still getting used to some of the sights and sounds of the city. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
