A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Fully grown at about 48 lbs.
Pete is a spunky, lover boy who enjoys nothing more than to be by your side. Originally from Queens ACC, Pete has settled right into his foster home and loves to follow his foster mom all around like her little shadow. He loves to be around his people and is thrilled when new people come over to visit him. Pete loves exploring new places, taking long neighborhood walks with plenty of sniff breaks, and investigating everything the world has to offer. He loves to sit at the park and watch the world go by and graciously lets anyone and everyone come over to pet him, young and old! He’s great with children at the park, going slowly and learning alongside them. He is working on potty training (but it’s going great so far!), knows “sit”, “paw”, and “down”, loves other dogs, and is nearly a perfect walker. Pete is a beautiful pup (he has the most gorgeous eyes!) looking for his forever family who he hopes will have an endless supply of treats! Pete is approximately 4y 0m 14d old and is fully grown at 48 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
🎾 Exercise
Pete loves exploring new places, taking long neighborhood walks with plenty of sniff breaks, and investigating everything the world has to offer. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
He is working on potty training (but it’s going great so far!), knows “sit”, “paw”, and “down”, loves other dogs, and is nearly a perfect walker. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
