About 12 lbs now and still growing — this breed usually reaches 30–45 lbs.
Hi, I’m Wanda. I arrived in the big city and immediately made myself at home. Traffic? Sirens? General sidewalk chaos? Unbothered. I bounce along on walks with my ears flopping, keeping an eye on the birds and squirrels and trying to make eye contact with everyone who passes. You could be my next best friend. I’d hate for you to miss that opportunity. At home, I’m a happy, playful girl with a busy schedule of throwing toys around and entertaining myself while my foster mom works. I’m also a big fan of the resident dog, who is older, much larger, and apparently unaware that we’re training for a tug-of-war championship. I have yet to win, but I admire my own confidence. I’m learning fetch, too, complete with a little bunny hop before I catch the ball. Form matters. My pee pad skills are excellent. My understanding of outdoor bathrooms is still under review. Sometimes I’ll hold it for an entire walk so I can use my pad when we get home. My foster mom calls this “a work in progress.” I call it knowing where the bathroom is. At bedtime, I settle nicely into my crate after a brief statement for the record. Once I’ve gotten my puppy energy out, though, my favorite place is cuddled up with you on the couch. I lean into every pet like I’ve been waiting my whole life for it, even if the last one was four seconds ago. I’ve got plenty of happy puppy energy, a very sweet snuggly side, and an opening for a lifelong best friend. Wanda is approximately 0y 4m 10d old and may be 31 to 39 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
I’ve got plenty of happy puppy energy, a very sweet snuggly side, and an opening for a lifelong best friend. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
I bounce along on walks with my ears flopping, keeping an eye on the birds and squirrels and trying to make eye contact with everyone who passes. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
I arrived in the big city and immediately made myself at home. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
