Say hello to Salish, a tender-hearted girl who got her second chance in the nick of time. She was surrendered to a crowded Georgia shelter and placed on the euthanasia list simply because there was no room left. Once rescued, Salish blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion who just wants kindness and a place to belong. She’s ready for her forever home, one that will finally give her the love she’s been waiting for. All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Please note that the listed location for this dog may not be accurate due to technical limitations of this database and we have transportation options available within 6 hours of NYC (so don't let location hold you back)! Interested in fostering or adopting? Need more info on this dog? The first step in the process is filling out an application on our website. Mixed Breed

🧠 Temperament

Once rescued, Salish blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion who just wants kindness and a place to belong. Mixed-breed dogs pull traits from several lines, which often means fewer breed-linked health problems and a temperament best judged by meeting the dog.

🎾 Exercise

Depends on the individual. A daily walk plus play is the baseline; ask the foster how the dog behaves after a quiet day.

✂️ Grooming

Varies with coat type. Short coats need little; longer or double coats need regular brushing.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

Mixes are often excellent city dogs. Building breed restrictions are usually enforced on what a dog looks like, so ask the rescue how the dog is typically identified.
