My name is Alicia. I am a female, tan German Shepherd Dog mix. I have been at the shelter since May 10, 2026. Hi, I’m Alicia ?? I’m a 12-year-old lab mix, but please do not let that number fool you. I am still spry as a chicken and can absolutely keep up with dogs way younger than me! In fact, I’m still full of energy and very much enjoy getting out and about. The vet checked me over and besides a slight ear infection that has already been treated and being a little skinny, I’m actually in really great health for my age! Now, my future family should know that I do have some important boundaries. I can be very protective around my food bowl and sometimes around toys as well. Because of that, my adopters should leave me alone during feeding time, and I would do best in a home without young children or cats. Outside of those situations though, Alicia is truly a wonderful dog. I’m an excellent walker, I enjoy being around people, and I still have so much life and love left to give. Senior dogs like me often get overlooked, but we deserve happy endings too. We may not know exactly how much time I have left, but we do know that I deserve to spend the rest of my life in a warm, loving home surrounded by people who care about me. Alicia is ready to spend her golden years exactly where she belongs — as someone’s beloved best friend ?? Alicia is spayed, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. Her adoption fee is $500.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC. Alicia will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of her adoption. If you'd like to meet Alicia please visit, we're conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus and we're open daily for adoptions from 11am to 5:30pm Alicia can't wait to meet you! German Shepherd

🧠 Temperament

We may not know exactly how much time I have left, but we do know that I deserve to spend the rest of my life in a warm, loving home surrounded by…. Confident, highly trainable and deeply loyal, bred to work all day alongside a handler.

🎾 Exercise

High — 60-90+ minutes daily plus a job to do. Scent work and obedience are ideal outlets.

✂️ Grooming

Heavy double-coat shedding year-round with two big blowouts a year. Brush several times a week.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

Because of that, my adopters should leave me alone during feeding time, and I would do best in a home without young children or cats. Demanding in an apartment: large, vocal and often reactive to the constant stimulus of a city street.

Adoption fee $500.00
