Maple's ears arrive a few seconds before the rest of her, and they're usually pointed at whatever she plans to explore next. She and her sister Chai were abandoned in a yard in South Gate, covered in fleas, until one of our fosters spotted them and asked if she could take them home. The answer was yes. She's about 7 months old and 7.5 pounds, and we're estimating this little Chihuahua mix will land somewhere around 8 to 10 pounds full grown. She's white with a short coat, a speckled nose, and the cutest little overbite we ever did see! Maple is the more curious of the two sisters and has a little more energy than Chai, and once she's done investigating, she wants all the love and attention you have. She'll sit on your lap, lie right next to you, or rest her head on your knee while you're sitting down, and she loves to be carried. She also loves a good flop, belly-up, and expects a belly rub when she does it. Like her sister, she can be skittish at times and does best with a little patience while she settles in. Maple is looking for a home with room to explore, a lap to come back to when she's done, and bonus if there is an older kid or two to keep her company. 🧠 Temperament
Bold and deeply bonded to one or two people. Chihuahuas are often wary of strangers and can be snappy if they were never taught that hands are safe — early gentle socialization matters.

Low — short walks and indoor play are plenty.

🏙️ In an LA apartment
Extremely apartment-friendly and easy to carry on the subway. They get cold fast and need a sweater most of the winter.
