Meet Stanley, the hoodie-wearing, velcro-loving Yorkie with ears for days! 🩵 Stanley is an 8-year-old, 10-pound Yorkie mix who was found wandering the streets of Queens and scooped up by a kind family. When no one came looking for him, he joined the Waggytail family, and we’re so glad he did. He’s a true velcro dog who wants to be wherever you are, whether that’s on your lap, at your feet, or supervising from the couch. He loves his walks and is very fond of his foster brother, so he enjoys dog company. He’s also living with a cat and has shown no prey drive, just a healthy dose of curiosity about his feline roommate. 🐱 So far he appears to be housetrained, too. Stanley loves to explore the neighborhood and is great on leash. While he hasn't been observed around kids, we imagine he'd be just fine with tiny humans. Toys haven’t quite won him over, but a savory treat in any form is his love language. That’s a good thing, because we’re helping him fill out a little. Lick mats and treat puzzles are his idea of a good time. 🍖 When Stanley first came into our care, his eyes were crusted with gunkies (that’s the medical term 😉). But is otherwise heathy, recently examined and up-to-date on vaccinations. Stanley’s ideal home is a cozy one, where he can be a constant companion, with someone who’s around a lot and doesn’t mind a shadow! Bonus points if you appreciate a dog who looks good in a hoodie. 🧥 Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Heartworm negative and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Stanley is scheduled for neuter and dental cleaning on October 27 at our partner vet, Cooper Square Vet in the East Village. Should he be adopted before this appointment his adopters will be responsible for bringing him to and from this appointment. Adopters are welcome to have the procedures done at their private vet of choice (at their own expense), Waggytail Rescue will only sponsor pre-scheduled medical care at Cooper Square Vet. To apply for Stanley, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org

Meet Stanley, the hoodie-wearing, velcro-loving Yorkie with ears for days!. Confident and lively, with more terrier boldness than their size suggests.

He loves his walks and is very fond of his foster brother, so he enjoys dog company. Low to moderate — short walks plus play.

✂️ Grooming

High if kept long; much easier in a short cut. Dental care matters.
