Maximus may be a low rider, but he’s big on personality. This sweet boy is close to the ground, easy to love, and always happy to get some attention from his people. With his short little legs and lovable face, Maximus is pretty hard to resist. He’s a friendly, affectionate guy who’s ready to find a home where he can settle in and be part of the family. If this animal is located at our Manhattan Adoption Center, head in to meet them and see if you are a match! We are a same-day adoption center, and an application does not put you on a list or hold an animal for you. If they are in Wantagh or in a foster home, please submit an online application and our team will reach out to further discuss the adoption process. Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given their age-appropriate vaccines.

He’s a friendly, affectionate guy who’s ready to find a home where he can settle in and be part of the family. Confident, highly trainable and deeply loyal, bred to work all day alongside a handler.

High — 60-90+ minutes daily plus a job to do. Scent work and obedience are ideal outlets.
✂️ Grooming
Heavy double-coat shedding year-round with two big blowouts a year. Brush several times a week.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Demanding in an apartment: large, vocal and often reactive to the constant stimulus of a city street. Very doable for an experienced owner, hard for a first-timer.
