Ace

Hi, I’m Ace, a little nugget of pure puppy bliss! I may be tiny, but I’ve already been working hard on my training since day one. My foster mom says my brain is currently about the size of a pea, but I’m showing her that I can definitely live up to my name and Ace my training! We’ve been working on crate training, potty training, and bite inhibition, and I’m catching on pretty darn well for such a little guy. Of course, every now and then my puppy brain takes over and I remember that I’m actually supposed to be a professional at playing, zooming, and being adorable. I’ve also been doing really well with my foster sibling, Coco! I love playing with my older foster sibling and have been really good at learning when enough is enough. Coco has given me a few appropriate puppy corrections when I get a little too enthusiastic, and I’ve been great at accepting those corrections and moving on. I’m learning that older dogs have boundaries, and I’m doing a pretty good job listening to them. I also have a foster sister named Zoey! We haven’t officially met yet because Zoey is very dog selective and needs time to welcome new furry friends. Even though we haven’t met face-to-face, I’ve been very respectful of her space and am patiently letting her take things at her own pace. I’m learning that good introductions are all about patience and respect! I’ve also been doing really well experiencing the big world around me. I’ve heard all sorts of everyday noises and have handled them like a champ. I’ve met new people and greet them with my very best waggly tail. I’ve even seen other dogs from a distance, and so far I’ve been able to stay calm and take it all in. At night, I’m actually a pretty good little sleeper! I usually sleep through the night without any trouble. My foster mom wakes me up every few hours so I can go potty and keep practicing my nighttime routine. I might whimper for a little bit when it’s bedtime because, well… I’m still a baby and being away from everyone is hard sometimes. My foster family keeps a sound machine on at night to help block out some of the outside world because foster bro has some noise aversion issues and that seems to help me settle in. I’m also teething, which means my little gums are telling me that EVERYTHING should be chewed. I sometimes like to nibble on my foster mom, but she’s teaching me that fingers and toes are not chew toys. I’m learning that teething rings, toys, and frozen Kongs are much better choices! I’ve been doing pretty great with potty training, too. I’m learning to use pee pads and to go outside when I need to. I’ve only had a few accidents, and those happened when my foster mom didn’t notice my potty cues in time. Since my foster family has a private fenced yard, I’ve been practicing going potty outdoors while staying on leash so I learn to go in a specific area. I’m still a baby, so I’ll need my forever family to keep watching for my cues, continue working with me, and be patient while I figure it all out. So, what am I looking for? I need someone who understands that I’m still very young and that there will be zoomies, chewing, accidents, learning, cuddles, and probably a whole lot of puppy shenanigans along the way. I’d love someone who will help me experience the world, keep teaching me new things, and continue helping me Ace being the awesome pupper I already am. I’m just getting started, but my foster family says I’m one pretty special little nugget. And between you and me…I think they might be right. Ace is approximately 0y 2m 10d old and may be 23 to 29 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble.
