A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Allie is the SWEETEST couch potato! From day one, she loved people and will quickly jump into our arms if you bend down to her level. So far she has been respectful of peoples boundaries and does not jump onto people, but loves any and all attention! She is definitely a couch dog and is happiest cuddling with her person on the couch relaxing. But don't be fooled, because this girl is still high energy! She is still adjusting to city life and leash walking, but I can already tell she will be the perfect running buddy! Right now she can be pretty nervous outside (rightfully so- moving from Kentucky to LES Manhattan is a pretty big jump!) but is still showing a lot of curiosity and excitement. Allie does need a fair amount of work on crate training and leash behavior, but is slowly making progress. If you are looking for a dog to take with you on runs in the morning, and cuddle with on the couch at night, Allie might just be the perfect dog for you! Allie is approximately 1y 0m 11d old and is fully grown at 34 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Right now she can be pretty nervous outside (rightfully so- moving from Kentucky to LES Manhattan is a pretty big jump!) but is still showing a lot…. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
Don't be fooled, because this girl is still high energy!. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
She is still adjusting to city life and leash walking, but I can already tell she will be the perfect running buddy!. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
