A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
If you want a best friend who loves you just as much (if not possibly more?) than you love him, Beans is your guy! He is the absolute sweetest boy, and wants nothing more than to be cuddling in your lap giving you kisses at all times. As he’s still pretty young, he does have a lot of energy and needs enrichment while he’s awake - we recommend chews, specifically yak cheese chews! However, the other half of the time he’s perfectly content to chill out and nap on the couch beside you (but fair warning: he will make himself comfy and take up all the room!) Overall, he’s such a goofy, sweet , playful boy - and he’d make a great member of your family if you’re committed to helping him improve his manners and relaxation skills. Beans is approximately 1y 1m 3d old and is fully grown at 43 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
🎾 Exercise
Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
