A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.

Bongus is a sweet, curious little one-year-old who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. She can be nervous when meeting new people and may hide or freeze at first, but give her a little time and patience, and you’ll get to see her beautiful personality start to come out. Once Bongus feels comfortable with you, she loves nothing more than coming over to ask for some affection. She’ll nudge you for attention, roll right over for belly rubs, and happily accept all the head scratches you’re willing to give. And when she gets excited, she does the cutest little butt wiggle! She’s more of a professional lounger than a playful pup, and you’ll often find her relaxing on the couch or stretched out on the floor nearby. Bongus is also full of adorable little quirks. She loves staring at herself in the mirror and has a particular fascination with sniffing her person’s toes. She may not be the boldest girl in the room, but she is wonderfully curious and has so much love to give once she feels safe. Bongus is approximately 1y 0m 13d old and is fully grown at 25 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

She can be nervous when meeting new people and may hide or freeze at first, but give her a little time and patience, and you’ll get to see her…. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
