Bongus

Meet Bongus, a sweet, curious girl who is learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. When she first arrived, Bongus needed a little time to come out of her shell, but after a month in foster care, she's showing just how much love and personality she has to give. She's still a little shy around new people, unfamiliar sounds, and the front door, but with patience and time, her beautiful personality begins to shine. Once Bongus feels comfortable with you, she becomes your very own little shadow. She loves following her person around the apartment, investigating whatever you're up to, and curling up right beside you while you watch a show. She's become quite the cuddle bug and will happily snuggle up in bed, press herself against you on the couch, or stretch out for a cozy nap. And if you're lucky enough to be on the bed, she might just jump up, paw at your face, and give you a few kisses until you understand that it's officially time for belly rubs! Bongus is also a girl with priorities, and food is very high on that list. The moment she hears the refrigerator open, she comes running with the most irresistible puppy eyes, hoping for a little taste of salami, cheese, boiled chicken, or whatever deliciousness might be inside. She may even try to investigate the fridge herself! She's got a playful side, too, with occasional zoomies on the bed and the funniest little habit of gently grabbing your hand with her mouth to guide it toward her for more pets. Although Bongus is mostly calm and low-energy, she has a few bursts of puppy energy and plenty of curiosity. She's beginning to enjoy her daily walks and is doing well on leash, even if she sometimes gets so interested in walking right in front of her person that they accidentally bump into each other. She's also comfortable with other dogs and is happy to sniff and say hello—or simply do her own thing. Bongus is looking for someone who understands that trust takes time. Her ideal person will be patient, gentle, and willing to let her settle in at her own pace. In return, you'll get a loyal, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be near you, share your couch, and remind you that every trip to the refrigerator might be an opportunity for a snack. Bongus is approximately 1y 1m 18d old and is fully grown at 25 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble.
