📏 Full size

Fully grown at about 49 lbs.

A medium dog by weight

I used to think that dogs like Brody couldn’t possibly exist in real life - his personality is the chillest and calmest demeanor, all he wants is to hang out with you and get belly rubs. He hardly barks, for the first 3 days he was in our foster care I wasn’t even fully convinced he had a bark. He’s the perfect walker! Occasionally he gets distracted and zeros in on a particular interesting scent but otherwise he walks right next to you and loves saying hi to dogs along the way. His chill nature translates into how he approaches new dogs and people as well, never coming off with aggression or jumping on anyone. Doesn’t get rattled by anything (even the vacuum) and won’t go chasing after rouge squirrels. He has an absolute heart of gold - his perfect day is filled with long walks and couch cuddles. Did I mention he tells me when he needs to out and use the bathroom?! Yeah, Brody is the definition of a perfect and loving dog. Note: he does seem pretty uninterested in treats though… except pupcups Brody is approximately 1y 6m 10d old and is fully grown at 49 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.

Mixed / Unknown breed

This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.

🧠 Temperament

I used to think that dogs like Brody couldn’t possibly exist in real life - his personality is the chillest and calmest demeanor, all he wants is to…. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.

🎾 Exercise

Occasionally he gets distracted and zeros in on a particular interesting scent but otherwise he walks right next to you and loves saying hi to dogs…. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

✂️ Grooming

Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

He hardly barks, for the first 3 days he was in our foster care I wasn’t even fully convinced he had a bark. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
