A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
I'm a sweet, affectionate girl with lots of puppy energy and an even bigger heart. My favorite thing is heading out for long walks in Central Park, where I can keep a close eye on pigeons, squirrels, and all the exciting things happening around me. I love meeting people, soaking up attention, and collecting as many pets as possible from my admirers. While I'm always ready for an adventure outside, I'm actually very well-behaved at home and know how to settle down when it's time to relax. I'm also a bit of a foodie. Dry kibble by itself? Not exactly my favorite. But add a little wet food, and you've got yourself one very happy customer. I do have a few things I'm still working on. Wheelchairs and people with canes can feel a little scary to me, and being left alone is especially hard. I love my people so much that I can get anxious when they leave, so I'm looking for a patient adopter who can help me continue building confidence and feeling secure. In return, I'll reward you with endless love, loyalty, and companionship. If you're looking for a playful adventure buddy, professional squirrel chaser, and world-class cuddle enthusiast, I think we'd make a pretty great team! Maple is approximately 1y 0m 7d old and is fully grown at 62 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.

🧠 Temperament
I'm a sweet, affectionate girl with lots of puppy energy and an even bigger heart. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
My favorite thing is heading out for long walks in Central Park, where I can keep a close eye on pigeons, squirrels, and all the exciting things…. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Wheelchairs and people with canes can feel a little scary to me, and being left alone is especially hard. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
