A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Fully grown at about 24 lbs.
Meet Robert! Robert is a fun-loving cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to snuggle by your side and eat peanut butter. He has adjusted well to big city life and does pretty well on the leash. He's learning not to tug and is very treat motivated! He had a couple of accidents in the house on his first day (pee only) but since has been getting plenty of walks and doing plenty of business. Robert is the perfect dog for apartment living as he gets all his energy out chewing on his toys and strolling around the block then is happy to be blissed out on the sofa snoring (quite loudly!) for the rest of the day. If you're looking for a cute and compact companion, Robert is the guy for you. Robert is approximately 2y 0m 8d old and is fully grown at 24 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Robert is a fun-loving cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to snuggle by your side and eat peanut butter. Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed.
🎾 Exercise
He had a couple of accidents in the house on his first day (pee only) but since has been getting plenty of walks and doing plenty of business. Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
He has adjusted well to big city life and does pretty well on the leash. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
