Meet Apex Apex is a little boy at the very beginning of his life, with a whole world of possibilities waiting for him. Apex and his four siblings, Breaker, Calyx, Nyx, and Sora, were dropped off by the police at a shelter in Mississippi. Their mama was nowhere to be found, leaving these five little puppies without the one who should have been there to protect them. We may never know how these little ones found themselves in that situation, but we know they deserve a future filled with love, safety, and happiness. Now, Apex is ready to start his next chapter. He is just a puppy, with so much growing, learning, and discovering ahead of him. He deserves a family who will patiently guide him through life's little adventures, celebrate his milestones, and help him grow into the wonderful dog he is meant to be. There are so many firsts waiting for Apex: his first favorite toy, his first cozy bed, his first family adventure, and the beautiful moment when he realizes he is finally home. Apex deserves a chance to grow up knowing he is safe and loved. Could you be the person who gives him that chance? Please remember that adoption bios are only a snapshot of each animal. They are meant to give you a glimpse into their personality and story, but there is so much more to learn. Please reach out to our Adoption Team for additional information about Apex and to learn if he may be the right fit for your home. All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Interested in fostering or adopting? Need more info on this dog? 🧠 Temperament
They are meant to give you a glimpse into their personality and story, but there is so much more to learn. Mixed-breed dogs pull traits from several lines, which often means fewer breed-linked health problems and a temperament best judged by meeting the dog.
🎾 Exercise
Depends on the individual. A daily walk plus play is the baseline; ask the foster how the dog behaves after a quiet day.
✂️ Grooming
Varies with coat type. Short coats need little; longer or double coats need regular brushing.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Mixes are often excellent city dogs. Building breed restrictions are usually enforced on what a dog looks like, so ask the rescue how the dog is typically identified.
