Meet Calyx Calyx is a little girl who deserves a world of love, a safe place to grow, and a family who will cherish her for a lifetime. Calyx and her siblings, Apex, Breaker, Nyx, and Sora, were dropped off by the police at a shelter in Mississippi. Their mama was never found, and these five little ones were left without her, facing an uncertain beginning to their lives. We may never know what happened before they arrived at the shelter, but we do know that Calyx deserves so much more than an uncertain start. She deserves a future where she never has to wonder whether someone will care for her. Now, this sweet little puppy has the opportunity to begin again. She has a whole world to explore, so many things to learn, and so much growing to do. We hope she finds a family who will guide her with patience, keep her safe, and make her feel like the most loved girl in the world. Imagine all the memories waiting to be made: the toys she will discover, the adventures she will share, the cozy naps after a busy day, and the bond that will grow stronger with every passing year. Calyx deserves to grow up knowing she belongs. Please consider making this little girl part of your family and giving her the beautiful future she deserves. Please remember that adoption bios are only a snapshot of each animal. They are meant to give you a glimpse into their personality and story, but there is so much more to learn. Please reach out to our Adoption Team for additional information about Calyx and to learn if she may be the right fit for your home. All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Interested in fostering or adopting? Need more info on this dog? 🧠 Temperament
Now, this sweet little puppy has the opportunity to begin again. Mixed-breed dogs pull traits from several lines, which often means fewer breed-linked health problems and a temperament best judged by meeting the dog.
🎾 Exercise
Depends on the individual. A daily walk plus play is the baseline; ask the foster how the dog behaves after a quiet day.
✂️ Grooming
Varies with coat type. Short coats need little; longer or double coats need regular brushing.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Mixes are often excellent city dogs. Building breed restrictions are usually enforced on what a dog looks like, so ask the rescue how the dog is typically identified.
