Eloise was rescued from a bus while being abused in the skid row area. Citizens jumped in to get the puppy and got her to safety. We then took her on. Her story came to light. A women struggling with mental health issues was in a psychotic break and gave Eloise away to another person in skid row, and she was hospitalized for her mental break. We did connect with her and she released Eloise to us. In spite of her rocky beginnings, Eloise is a ray of sunshine. She is fostered with a couple other Frenchies and just flourishing. Eloise is a very good girl and is doing exceptionally well. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.
🧠 Temperament
Comic, affectionate and people-oriented. Frenchies want to be with you constantly and are usually easygoing with strangers and other dogs.
🎾 Exercise
Low — two or three short walks and some indoor play. They tire quickly.
✂️ Grooming
Short coat is easy, but facial folds need regular cleaning to prevent infection.
🏙️ In an LA apartment
Near-ideal apartment dog: small, quiet and low-exercise. The serious caveat is breathing — flat faces make them dangerously heat-intolerant, so summer walks must be early, short and shaded. Expect higher vet costs.
