📣 BIO 📣 Minnie is the kind of dog who knows exactly how cute she is, and she isn’t wrong. She came to us from a San Bernardino shelter after her owner surrendered her along with two other small dogs. Her foster spent the entire day at the shelter making sure all three of them got out, and we are so glad she did. Minnie has been settling in a little more every day. She’s 7 years old, 7 pounds of tan fluff, and has an overbite we are completely obsessed with. Her foster says Minnie is the easiest foster she has ever had, and with over 80 fosters, that’s saying a lot. Minnie’s happiest place is a pillow, and when she isn’t tucked into one, she’s tucked into you. She’s a cuddler through and through and will settle in right next to her person like she has always been there. Inside the home, Minnie is an easy roommate. She’s house-trained and does well independently, with no signs of separation anxiety for such a love bug. She’s also made fast friends with the small dogs in her foster home. Minnie doesn’t ask for much. She needs a pillow or two and a person who likes company, because she will be right there next to you. If your couch could use a 7-pound pillow hog, head to hitlivingfoundation.org/adopt to apply. Est DOB: 09/21/2019 Adoption Fee: $550
🧠 Temperament
Bold and deeply bonded to one or two people. Chihuahuas are often wary of strangers and can be snappy if they were never taught that hands are safe — early gentle socialization matters.
🎾 Exercise
Low — short walks and indoor play are plenty.
✂️ Grooming
Easy for both smooth and long coats. Dental care is the real priority; small breeds are prone to tooth disease.
🏙️ In an LA apartment
Extremely apartment-friendly and easy to carry on the subway. They get cold fast and need a sweater most of the winter.
